Below is a note from Heather (Heather is part of our Rose of Sharon team, a New Life Member, and a CDC teacher who is dedicating six months to living and working among orphans and women in a red light district in India):
The (165+) girls at the orphanage have been so sweet and responsive. I visited the slums here… and already 35 of the kids came to church this morning and I gave them bible study. As a result they are taking about coming to VBS next week. I’m also going to teach them to do hair as a way to support themselves.
I have been working with a local technical school in their cosmetology course as well. So that seems to be my mission right now to train women who are poor a trade. God has placed me with an english speaking Christian teacher so I’m not having to do as much sign language as I thought. The technical school girls are making me a sari for Tuesday. I’m so flattered by how gracious everyone is! I miss you all!
Update as of Nov 30, 2011: Heather was able to minister in the red light district. Today Rose of Sharon officially made it to India! She distributed 3 dozen roses, shared hope and prayer. She even had access inside one of the brothels to minister by styling the hair of several women. Please pray as she continues to serve in India in the coming months.

This past summer our high school students from Lancaster, Pa worked with the Camden Dream Center and had a great experience. In fact, this winter 2012 we are hosting a one day serve experience as a first taste of serving in preparation for going back to Camden!

I just wanted to tell you how much of an impact you have made on my life. i am 15 years old and i came to your church in august on a missions trip with millington babtist church from new jersey ! i was really nervous because i am used to my safe and peaceful neighborhood, also used to being spoiled, and i used to like that. but i now feel that my whole life has changed! your church showed me a happy, united neighborhood, something that i would never see in mine. some of the people i saw had absolutely nothing, but they looked happier then i think i ever have been! pastor choco and everyone from the newlife church are now an enormous part of my life and an amazing blessing that i am so proud to have received. the things you have done has now encouraged me to step out on faith and do something with my life, and i now believe that i can make a difference! your church has urged me to step out of my comfort zone…thank you for making an enormous difference in my life, i will never forget my trip!
